The capital city of Oman, Muscat is also the nation’s most populous city with over 1.4 million people calling it home.

Sitting on the Gulf of Oman, Muscat is surrounded by mountains and desert with its architecture a tapestry of Arab, Portuguese, Persian, Indian, and African influences.

Opened in 2012 and endowed by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Al Amerat Cricket Ground is the jewel in the crown of Omani Cricket.

Holding official ICC Test accreditation, the ground has so far hosted 30 T20Is, as well as four ODIs as part of Cricket World Cup League 2.
